Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) seeks a Peer Support Specialist for the Mobile Crisis Unit on a contingent, part‑time basis. Under supervision, you’ll provide support, recovery training, and advocacy to individuals receiving services, while coordinating with the clinical team to arrange needed resources.

Required: high school diploma or GED, 1 year of peer recovery experience, Michigan driver’s license, and commitment to obtaining Peer Support Specialist certification within 18

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or a G.E.D.
• One year of professional peer recovery experience.
• Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Must obtain Peer Support Specialist certification within 18 months of hire.
• Willing to travel across Wayne County.

Responsibilities

• Provides support and recovery training to individuals receiving services.
• Assists in implementing a recovery environment and advocates for client rights.
• Collaborates with mobile crisis clinicians to provide crisis support in the community.
• Maintains records and completes clinical documentation per standards.
• Attends meetings, reports progress, and follows up with clients and families.
• Assists clients with housing, employment, and education resources.
