Job summary

Boulder Care is seeking a Remote Michigan-based Peer Recovery Specialist to join our fully online team. You will use lived experience to support individuals with substance use disorders, coordinating with care partners and navigating OUD resources.

The role requires 2+ years in peer recovery, Michigan peer certification, and the ability to obtain NAADAC/NCPRSS certification within 9 months. Strong communication and boundary-setting are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in peer recovery support
• Active peer certification in good standing in Michigan
• Current certification as National Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (NCPRSS) through NAADAC or ability to obtain within 9 months
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience serving diverse populations and barriers to care

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized peer recovery support to patients with varying levels of need and complexity
• Build sustained, trusting relationships that promote recovery and community connection
• Use lived experience to support patients while maintaining clear boundaries
• Help patients establish recovery goals and develop practical strategies to achieve them
• Coordinate with clinical, care management, and community partners
• Connect patients with appropriate community-based resources and navigate referral processes
• Recognize risks and escalate as needed
• Collaborate with team leadership on projects and initiatives
