Job summary

Boulder Care is hiring a Peer Recovery Specialist for a 100% remote, full-time position based in Oregon. You will provide recovery-oriented peer support and help navigate MOUD resources while maintaining HIPAA-compliant practices.

The role emphasizes lived experience, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and building relationships to support patient autonomy and meaningful recovery goals. Work hours are 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. PT, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in peer recovery support.
• Active peer certification in good standing in Oregon.
• NCPRSS certification or ability to obtain within 9 months of hire.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized peer recovery support to patients with varying levels of need and complexity.
• Build sustained, trusting relationships that promote recovery, self-efficacy, and community connection.
• Use lived experience to support patients while maintaining clear boundaries.
• Help patients establish recovery goals, identify strengths, and develop practical strategies for achieving these goals.
• Provide peer support during periods of increased vulnerability, including transitions in care and changes in recovery support.
• Connect patients with appropriate community-based resources as needs are identified.
• Coordinate effectively with clinical, care management, and community partners.
• Assist patients in identifying barriers to engagement and develop peer-based strategies to improve participation and connection to services.
• Recognize risk, safety concerns, and situations outside the scope of peer support and elevate as needed.
• Collaborate with team leadership to implement projects and initiatives as needed.
