Intuit is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to manage high‑volume payroll tax cases, resolve notices, amend payroll returns, and ensure compliant filings across multiple states.

You will mentor teammates, collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, and Tax Notice teams, and grow technical depth in a fast‑paced environment while handling flexible, remote work with a minimum of 20 hours per week and potential to grow up to 40 hours.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years hands-on payroll tax experience focusing on notice resolution.
• Able to read and resolve IRS/state notices and determine the resolutions.
• Experience preparing Form 941-X and state amendments.
• Knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW and local taxes.
• Experience with multi-state payroll tax and local tax compliance.
• CPP/FPC preferred; active pursuit encouraged.

Responsabilités

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work for assigned accounts, processing payroll runs, auditing outputs, and managing filings.
• Independently research and resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices through closure.
• Prepare written agency responses with supporting documentation within deadlines.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns (Form 941-X and state equivalents) for complex amendments.
• Support payroll correction workflows and document the resolution audit trail.
• Prioritize cases by SLA, maintain thorough case documentation, and manage WIP queue.
• Perform trend analysis of customer and agency data to identify deficiencies.
• Contribute to SOPs and KB updates and coach junior staff.
• Collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams.
