Job summary

Intuit, Inc. is seeking a payroll tax professional to resolve notices and prepare amended returns across multiple states. The Senior Payroll Tax Processor will handle high-volume cases with independence, ensuring accurate tax filings and strong documentation. The role offers flexible, remote hours and overtime eligibility.

You will mentor colleagues, contribute to SOPs, and collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File teams to improve processes and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years payroll tax experience with focus on notices and amendments.
• Read and interpret IRS/state notices; determine resolution path.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns.
• Proficient with payroll platforms and case management tools.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets for reconciliation and tracing discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle payroll tax case work across notices and amendments.
• Research and resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices.
• Prepare agency responses with supporting docs before deadlines.
• Prepare Form 941-X and state amendments for complex cases.
• Identify sources of payroll errors and document correction trails.
• Maintain WIP queues with SLA-aware prioritization.
• Analyze trends to identify process or system improvements.
• Contribute to SOPs and knowledge base updates.
• Collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, and Tax Notice teams; mentor others.
