Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of hands-on payroll tax experience with a focus on notice resolution and amended return preparation.
• Experience resolving State and Federal payroll tax notices independently, including balance-due and deposit discrepancy notices.
• Deep knowledge of payroll tax regulations and tax payments across federal and multi-state jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work for assigned accounts, including accurate payroll runs and tax filings.
• Research and resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices from intake to closure.
• Prepare written agency responses with supporting documentation and timely submissions.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) on complex amendments.
• Support payroll correction workflows and quantify tax impact across quarters.
• Manage personal WIP queue, prioritizing SLA dates and documenting case activity.
