Job summary

Wave is seeking a Payroll Systems Analyst to streamline payroll operations across multiple markets, linking payroll data with HRIS and the general ledger while navigating diverse currencies and local requirements. You will define processes, build tools, and train teams, becoming the primary partner for payroll systems questions within HR Tech, Finance, and Payroll.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and French.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, IS, or Business Admin.
• 3+ years in HRIS, payroll operations, payroll systems, or payroll accounting.
• Experience reconciling payroll to the general ledger with employer costs and mappings.
• Experience with in-country payroll providers and multi-entity data flows.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; ability to document and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Defining and strengthening Payroll team's ways of working.
• Map payroll runs in each market: inputs, calendars, cut-offs, approvals, handoffs.
• Align global payroll standards with local statutory requirements.
• Define how payroll requests are received and tracked, e.g., service desk.
• Train Payroll team members on new processes and tools.
• Own design and delivery of an internal payroll-to-finance reconciliation tool.
• Define reconciliation logic: headcount, gross-to-net, employer costs, FX.
• Automate data ingestion and build clear exception reporting.
• Iterate on the tool post-launch and document for maintenance.
• Provide core Payroll Systems support; stabilize HRIS-to-payroll data flows.
• Analyze workflows to reduce manual inputs and spreadsheet handoffs.
• Support future payroll provider changes and new-market launches.
• Coordinate testing of legislative updates to apply correctly.
• Own payroll data quality and develop dashboards for decisions.
• Manage data privacy and access controls per GDPR and regulations.
