Job summary

Attivo Partners is hiring a Payroll Specialist for 100% remote work. You will own full-cycle payroll in Rippling, manage multi-state tax compliance, and support budgeting with the internal CFO.

The role requires 2+ years leading Rippling payroll, 5+ years multi-state payroll experience, and CPP certification preferred. Strong Excel and familiarity with payroll-related tools are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years ownership running end-to-end payroll through Rippling’s Payroll system.
• 5+ years with US multi-state payroll processing and tax compliance.
• Significant knowledge of multi-state payroll and tax considerations, including hourly payroll.
• 401(K) plan administration and annual compliance audits.
• Advanced Excel skills required.

Responsibilities

• Administer full-cycle payroll processing across four pay groups with accuracy and compliance.
• Process tax-related matters, including opening new state accounts and notices.
• Accurately calculate sales commissions across multiple plans.
• Review timesheet reports for accuracy and state compliance.
• Compile and manage multiple reports and payment spreadsheets.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries.
• Reconcile benefits deductions with 401(k) and insurance premiums.
• Create and maintain an accounting playbook to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Support internal CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Serve as payroll subject matter expert for client needs (Leave, registrations, compliance, garnishments, 401(k)).
