Job summary

RCR Consulting is seeking a part-time Payroll Tax Specialist to join our remote team. You will own multi-state payroll tax compliance, registrations, filings, notices, and client communication across jurisdictions.

The role is 15-20 hours per week with Monday–Friday availability. ADP Workforce Now experience is required; CPP/FPC is a plus. A Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on payroll tax compliance across multiple states.
• Experience registering new state SUI/SIT and local tax accounts.
• Solid knowledge of FICA, FUTA, SUTA, and state/local tax withholding.

Responsibilities

• Register companies for new state/local tax accounts as clients expand.
• Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns and year-end forms.
• Resolve complex payroll tax issues with IRS and state agencies.
• Help clients access locked tax accounts and monitor rate changes.
• Advise on withholding elections, reciprocity, and remote employee taxation.
