Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end payroll operations for caregivers across the organization. You will ensure accurate, timely processing, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls while partnering with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders.

You will mentor the payroll team, drive continuous improvements, and manage year-end activities, tax filings, and audits. This role is based in Northeast Ohio with remote work hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field with 7+ years payroll/finance experience.
• Or an associate’s degree with 9+ years payroll/managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and wage/hour laws.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
• Oversee timekeeping system administration, audits and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including multi-state.
• Oversee payroll tax filings, reconciliations, agency notices and audits.
• Lead year-end activities including W-2 preparation and audits.
• Collaborate with HRIS, Finance and IT on changes, bonuses and deductions.
• Respond to payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Develop payroll policies, controls and procedures.
• Support audits with proper documentation and timely responses.
• Provide leadership and mentoring for the payroll team.
