Job summary

Ensemble Performing Arts is seeking a skilled Payroll Supervisor to lead payroll operations across its growing portfolio of performing arts businesses. This remote role reports to the Finance team and oversees weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with core payroll functions, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Working knowledge of multi-state payroll and wage-and-hour compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and lead a team.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Paylocity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end processing of weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payrolls for hourly and salaried employees.
• Review timekeeping data, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, and retro adjustments before each run.
• Approve payroll registers, resolve discrepancies, and release payments, including direct deposits, paper checks, and off-cycle payments.
• Process garnishments, child support orders, and other deductions accurately and on schedule.
• Ensure timely, accurate processing of adjustments and final pay.
