Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Software Engineer, Payments to join a leader in the Business Services space. The role focuses on building backend services and APIs that support payments workflows, translating product and regulatory requirements into reliable code, and improving conversion and reliability.

Location: Remote. Compensation: $162,000 – $186,000 annually. You will work with cross-functional teams, contribute to experimentation, and help drive scalable, data-driven improvements in service quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend services.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Python or Go for backend development.
• Experience building and operating services and APIs with relational databases and SQL.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to backend services and APIs for policy, coverage, and enrollment.
• Translate product and regulatory requirements into clean, well-tested code.
• Implement experimentation hooks and metrics for testing offers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful work.
