Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst to identify, develop and present new policy-related medical cost savings opportunities for Sentara Health Plan. Responsibilities include researching policies, evaluating strategies, and delivering savings through policy development and deployment.

The role requires CPC certification, 3 years in health plan or medical coding, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience presenting, collaborating and consulting with stakeholders across multiple areas.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and meeting tight timelines.
• Intermediate Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Research and assess internal payment policies and payment solutions to identify new cost savings opportunities.
• Determine strategies or solutions to achieve cost savings such as policy development, authorization criteria, contract strategy, and claims editing.
• Participate in analytical and fact-finding work to support opportunity development.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to define and deliver payment initiatives and policy development.
• Influence leadership to adopt new ideas and products.
