Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer in Virginia Beach, VA. This role identifies and develops policy-related medical cost savings opportunities for Sentara Health Plan, using data insights and expert input to drive savings across payment and reimbursement policies.

The position requires CPC certification within six months, 3 years of health plan or coding experience, and a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; bachelor-level degree preferred.
• 3 years health plan or medical coding experience required.
• CPC certification required within first 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Research and assess internal payment policies to identify cost savings opportunities.
• Determine strategies to achieve cost savings, including policy development and process improvements.
• Participate in analytical and fact-finding work to support opportunity development.
• Establish relationships with stakeholders to deliver payment initiatives and policy development.
• Influence leadership to adopt new ideas and products.
