Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify, develop and present cost-saving opportunities within payment and reimbursement policies. You will leverage data insights, policy knowledge and input from subject matter experts across Sentara Health Plan to drive savings.

The role requires CPC certification, a Bachelor-level degree (preferred), and at least 3 years in health plan or medical coding.

Qualifications

• Experience presenting, collaborating & consulting with a variety of stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects & meet tight delivery timelines.
• Intermediate computer skills with Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Research & assessment of internal payment policies & payment solutions to identify new cost savings opportunities.
• Determine potential strategies &/or solutions to achieve identified cost savings (policy development, authorization criteria, process, contract strategy, claims editing).
• Participate in analytical, investigative & other fact-finding work in support of opportunity development.
• Establish strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders to deliver payment initiatives & policy development.
• Influence leadership to adopt new ideas, approaches &/or products.
