Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify and present cost savings opportunities for SHP. You will assess opportunities using data insights, policy analysis, and input from subject matter experts across SHP to drive savings delivery.

Responsibilities include researching internal payment policies, developing strategies, and collaborating with stakeholders to advance policy development and reimbursement improvements that support health plan goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor level degree preferred.
• 3 years health plan experience or 3 years medical coding required.
• 3 years health plan claim auditing or appeals preferred.
• BS/BA/Advanced degree in health care or medical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and assess internal payment policies and solutions to identify cost savings opportunities.
• Determine potential strategies to achieve savings such as policy development or contract changes.
• Establish strong relationships with stakeholders to define and deliver payment initiatives.
