Job summary

Sentara Health Plan seeks a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify and present cost-saving opportunities in policy-related medical costs for SHP. You will analyze internal payment policies, assess solutions, and gather input from subject matter experts to deliver savings through policy changes and publication.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, manage multiple projects, and leverage data insights and Excel-based analyses to support health-plan goals.

Qualifications

• 3 years Health plan experience or 3 years Medical coding, required
• 3 years Health plan claim auditing or appeals, preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Responsibilities

• Identify cost savings opportunities in policy-related medical costs and reimbursement
• Assess strategies/solutions to achieve savings such as policy development, authorization criteria, and process changes
• Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders to define and deliver payment initiatives
• Support publication of policy developments and publications for SHP

Education

Bachelor's degree (Preferred)

BS/BA/Advanced degree in health care or medical field preferred
