Job summary

Sentara Health Plan is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify and present new policy-related medical cost savings opportunities. You will assess opportunities using data insights, engage stakeholders, and drive savings through policy development and deployment.

The role requires CPC certification, a bachelor-level health-care related degree, and experience with policy development and data analysis. Remote work options are available in eligible locations.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying cost-saving opportunities in health plans.
• Ability to develop or enhance payment policies and criteria.
• Experience presenting and consulting with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and data presentation.
• Knowledge of healthcare claims data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research internal payment policies to identify cost savings.
• Propose strategies for policy development, contract strategy or claims edits.
• Conduct analytical work to support opportunity development.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to implement payment initiatives.
• Influence leadership to adopt new ideas and products.
