Job summary

Sentara Health Plan is seeking a Payment Policy Research Analyst & Technical Writer to identify, develop, and present new cost-saving opportunities within payment and reimbursement policies. You will assess opportunities using data insights, policy knowledge, industry trends, and SME input.

The role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define, align, and deploy payment initiatives, influence leadership, and support policy development to meet health plan goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor degree in health care or medical field preferred.
• CPC Certification required within first 6 months of hire.
• Experience presenting, collaborating & consulting with stakeholders across multiple areas.
• Experience managing multiple projects with tight timelines.
• Intermediate skills with Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Research and assess internal payment policies to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Determine strategies to achieve savings such as policy development, criteria & process enhancements.
• Participate in analytical and fact-finding work to support opportunity development.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to deliver payment initiatives and policy development.
• Influence leadership to adopt new ideas and products.
