Job summary

OrthoCarolina is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator for our Contact Center in Charlotte, NC. This hybrid role starts remote with onsite training at Matthews, NC for three weeks, and involves handling patient and provider calls, scheduling, and coordination to ensure efficient clinic operations.

The PSC supports clinical staff, uses templates for medical questions, and requires strong communication skills, medical terminology knowledge, and experience in fast-paced medical call centers.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• One year of experience in call center/medical setting with inbound calls, scheduling, patient flow, and patient care.
• Prior experience with Centricity, TouchWorks, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco IP phone system, and EMR preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Appointment scheduling and answering incoming calls from healthcare providers and patients.
• Ensures calls are handled promptly and courteously; appointments align with policies.
• Reschedules patients to accommodate clinic schedules and assists referral physicians and other providers with information and resources.
• Supports clinical team to assist patients with medical questions using templates and protocols, which are completed and sent to the clinical team for response.
