Job summary

Shields Health Solutions seeks a Patient Outreach Specialist Pharmacy Technician for a remote role in the Eastern Time Zone. The position involves outbound calls to enroll patients in Shields Partner Pharmacy and educating them about the specialty program.

Candidates must be nationally certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB/NHA/ExCPT) with 1 year of experience, and must be able to work 8-hour shifts between 8:00 AM and 7:30 PM ET. Training toward certification is provided.

Qualifications

• Active national pharmacy technician certification required (PTCB or NHA/ExCPT).
• 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician or related experience.
• Licensure/certification within mutually agreed timeframe and continuing employment contingent on meeting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Proactively grow the specialty pharmacy patient population by outbound calls and enrolling them with Shields Partner Pharmacy.
• Educate patients on the services offered by the Shields Specialty Pharmacy Program.
• Protect Shields values by keeping information confidential.
• Communicate with patients and explain why Shields Partner Pharmacy program is superior.
• Review EMR/chart notes prior to outbound calls to understand patient condition.
• Identify medications requiring special handling and necessary supplies.
• Be flexible with shifts (8:30 AM–4:30 PM or 12:00 PM–8:00 PM ET; occasional Saturdays).
• Opportunity to become nationally certified (PTCB/ExCPT) within 6 months via Shields training.
