Job summary

The role requires strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10, EOBs, and insurance appeals, with a focus on accuracy and timely resolution. Remote interviews and flexible options are available where approved.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one year of full-cycle medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers is required.
• Ability to read EOBs or interpret denials is required.
• Experience with insurance claim appeals is required.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office; familiarity with electronic remittances is required.

Responsibilities

• Identifies payment details and saves backups as appropriate.
• Researches, validates and adjusts payment postings to resolve accounts.
• Interprets payer contracts to ensure codes match contracts.
• Initiates payer recoupments, refunds for payers and patients as needed.
• Navigate payer claim portals and understand payer functionality.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
