The Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Patient Financial Advocate to help patients navigate financial responsibilities related to healthcare services. This remote role supports patients, including those without insurance or with plans not accepted by the Clinic, by estimating costs, requesting deposits, and exploring government aid programs.

As a trusted liaison, you will resolve account disputes, discuss payment options, document outcomes within 24 hours, and assist callers and walk-ins with billing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in high-volume customer service in a healthcare setting.
• In-depth knowledge of patient accounts, collections, and insurance regulations.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding and insurance verification.
• Familiarity with third-party payers, Medicare, and physician billing.

Responsabilités

• Provide customer service and resolve patient account disputes and balances.
• Serve as liaison between PFS and clinic operations to resolve billing inquiries.
• Document patient issues and resolutions within 24 hours.
• Assist walk-in customers at cashier office.
• Collect balances via payment plans and various payment methods.
• Review daily appointment sheets to identify high-balance patients.
• Establish payment plans and determine charity care eligibility.
• Prepare adjustments and corrections in the clinic systems.
