Job summary

Ovation Healthcare, formerly QHR Health, is seeking a Patient Access specialist for 100% remote work in the United States. You will handle outpatient registration, switchboard coverage, and ED access, reporting to the Patient Access Manager.

Daytime and shift options vary to cover 7:00-17:30 EST and ED hours, with a focus on accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and excellent patient service. Ideal candidates have 2-4 years in a clinic/hospital setting, experience with EMR (Meditech MAGIC preferred), and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare comm training is a plus.
• Experience as switchboard operator, receptionist, or customer service role preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Enter accurate patient data in Meditech scheduling module and verify details.
• Verify insurance and collect demographics promptly.
• Return calls and manage patient voicemail effectively.
• Pre-register patients according to standard work.
• Complete Medicare secondary payer forms accurately.
• Post notes and verify insurance in Meditech.
• Follow cash handling and point-of-service policies.
• Support coworkers and adjust schedule as needed.
• Obtain patient signatures on required forms.
• Maintain registrations with ~95% accuracy.
• Perform other duties as directed.
