Carolinas Medical Center is hiring for a Patient Access & Care Team member in the NC/GA Operations. The role supports linking the patient experience between the call center and clinical sites, handling inbound and outbound calls, and scheduling appointments with accuracy.

This full-time, remote-position requires strong customer service, basic computer skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while following established workflows.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer service and ability to work with a variety of patients and patient situations.
• Basic understanding of computers and desktop software packages.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Link patient experience between PACT and practice site using established policies.
• Assist inbound callers and make outbound follow-ups as needed.
• Escalate complex issues and perform basic technical troubleshooting of online applications/systems.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate cancellations, reschedules, and additions.
• Verify demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Triaging urgent calls and transferring to a Registered Nurse when needed.
• Provide customer service and maintain documentation across multiple systems.
• Maintain knowledge of information systems used by the department.
