Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Centralized Access Rep I to support the Centralized Scheduling team. The role involves insurance verification, referral coordination, pre-certification, cost estimates, and collecting copays as part of the patient access and revenue cycle process.

You will collaborate with patients and providers to ensure accurate data, smooth scheduling, and a positive experience while working in a busy call center and potentially covering in-person shifts at Children's

Qualifications

• Requires high school education or equivalent with emphasis on computer literacy and communication skills.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Previous experience with Prior Authorizations or financial clearance is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, hospital financial systems, and insurance processes is beneficial.
• Candidate must be able to work 37.5 to 40 hours per week, in a home environment, with the ability to commute as needed.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, providers, payers and colleagues to ensure accurate scheduling and data collection.
• Perform insurance verification, referral coordination, pre-certification, and financial counseling screening.
• Communicate and coordinate to create a positive patient experience across the revenue cycle.
• Schedule hospital and physician services for RWJBH sites and manage pre-service estimates and copays.
• Demonstrate strong computer skills while working across multiple screens and systems.
• Cover in-person shifts at Children's Specialized Hospital as needed.
