Job summary

University of Southern California, through USC Care Medical Group, seeks a Patient Access Liaison I to serve as the primary contact for access to academic medical centers and health sciences campus. You will answer calls and messages, screen inquiries, and route them to the appropriate medical personnel.

The role involves scheduling initial and follow-up appointments, basic insurance verification, and coordinating communication across text, voice, and email channels while upholding HIPAA

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service environment or 1 year in healthcare or some combination thereof.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• HIPAA compliance knowledge preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer and direct calls and messages using the organizational communications management system.
• May schedule, reschedule, cancel and confirm appointments.
• May verify insurance as needed.
• May page physicians per internal procedures.
• Maintain professional demeanor and adhere to USC/Keck standards.
• Support remote work as deployed by the organization.
