AdventHealth is seeking a Patient Access Associate to handle Medicare compliance, patient billing, and insurance verification from a remote location in the United States. The role emphasizes accurate scheduling, registration, and liaison across departments to ensure smooth patient flow and financial clearance.

Candidates should have HIPAA knowledge, strong customer service, and familiarity with EMR systems. A high school diploma is required, with Associate degree preferred.

• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to handle confidential information
• Experience in customer service within healthcare or insurance environments
• Advanced understanding of hospital patient billing and insurance benefits
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and basic medical terminology

Aufgaben

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues Advance Beneficiary Notices as needed
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments
• Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization and provides required information
• Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains pre-authorizations within timeframes
• Registers patients for services and maintains accurate records
• Documents conversations with patients and payers and tracks payment arrangements
• Provides coverage for PBX and performs cashiering functions as needed
• Promotes positive team dialogue and participates in department meetings
