Sterlington PLLC, a premier full‑service law firm, seeks a Patent Agent for a remote role handling patent preparation and prosecution in cellular and wireless technologies. The candidate will draft claims, respond to Office Actions, and coordinate with global counsel on international portfolios.

Ideal applicants have 2–5 years of patent experience, strong technical background in electrical/communication fields, and excellent writing skills.

Qualificações

• Registered to practice before the USPTO or actively pursuing registration.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field.
• Approximately 2–5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience with cellular and wireless technologies (3GPP, LTE, 5G, 6G, RF, etc.).
• Excellent patent drafting and technical writing skills.
• Strong academics and ability to work independently with oversight.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Experience with AI-enabled legal tools is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Draft and prosecute U.S. patent applications involving wireless technologies.
• Coordinate foreign patent prosecution with international counsel.
• Prepare responses to Office Actions and manage deadlines in an active docket.
• Collaborate with inventors and technical staff to translate inventions into patent protection.
• Work with partners on patent strategy and portfolio development.
• Conduct prior art searches and analyze references for prosecutions.
• Translate complex disclosures into effective patent prosecution strategies.
• Manage matters with independence and high technical standards.
