Job summary

Sterlington PLLC seeks a Patent Agent to drive preparation and prosecution of patent applications for technology clients, especially in cellular and wireless spaces. The role offers meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the chance to work on sophisticated portfolios.

Qualifications

• Registered to practice before the USPTO or actively pursuing registration.
• Approximately 2–5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience with cellular/wireless technologies (3GPP, LTE, 5G, 6G) preferred.
• Excellent patent drafting and technical writing skills to translate complex concepts into clear claims.
• Must be based in the United States to support client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. patent applications involving wireless technologies and networking.
• Coordinate foreign patent prosecution with international counsel.
• Prepare responses to Office Actions and manage deadlines in a busy docket.
• Collaborate with inventors and technical staff to understand new technologies and draft protection.
• Work with partners on patent strategy and portfolio development.
• Conduct prior art searches and analyze prior art for prosecution strategies.
• Translate complex disclosures and standards into effective patent claims and strategies.
