Job summary

The Veritas Forum is a fast-growing ministry partnering with Christian thought leaders to engage universities on big questions. The Accounting Manager will oversee our outsourced accounting firm, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, AP/AR, and reconciliations, while reviewing work rather than performing data entry.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Finance and offers 15–20 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping, AP/AR, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel/Google Sheets.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting principles.
• Discretion with confidential financial information.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outsourced accounting firm and ensure accuracy of bookkeeping, AP/AR, and reconciliations.
• Review and approve vendor invoices and payments before finalization.
• Monitor timeliness and accuracy of the outsourced work and internal controls.
• Review monthly bank and credit card statements and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with the outsourced firm for year-end close, audits, and Form 990.
• Identify improvements to accounting processes and vendor relationships.
