Job summary

Pirate Ship is seeking a Paralegal to support the General Counsel with contracts, IP management, compliance and governance in a remote-first environment. The role blends administrative and legal work in a fast-paced tech setting, with a casual, collaborative culture and global travel as needed.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of paralegal experience in tech or law firms, strong research and drafting skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years paralegal experience in tech company or law firm.
• Exposure to intellectual property, contracts and corporate law.
• Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
• Willing to travel internationally and domestically quarterly.

Responsibilities

• Assist General Counsel in managing all legal matters, including contracts, IP management, compliance and governance.
• Prepare, review and revise contracts and other legal documents; maintain organized document systems.
• Conduct extensive legal research on regulatory compliance, IP and commercial law.
• Manage IP portfolio and liaise with external counsel and stakeholders on filings and enforcement.
• Support corporate governance tasks and maintenance of policies and training programs.
• Provide general administrative support to General Counsel, including scheduling and correspondence.
