Job summary

Pirate Ship is seeking a Paralegal (First Mate of Legal Affairs) to support General Counsel in contracts, IP, compliance, and governance. This remote-first role requires strong drafting, research, and organizational skills and offers a comprehensive benefits package and flexible work arrangement.

You will collaborate across teams, manage documents, and help ensure timely legal obligations while contributing to a fun, inclusive culture. Some travel for meetings may be required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of paralegal experience in tech or law firm
• Strong legal research and analytical skills
• Proficient in drafting and reviewing legal documents
• Excellent organizational and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with MS Office, Google Suite, legal research and PM tools

Responsibilities

• Keep documents shipshape: draft, review, and revise contracts and legal documents; maintain organized document management with deadlines
• Scout the legal horizon: perform extensive legal research on regulatory, IP, and corporate topics
• Help safeguard our treasure: manage IP portfolio with external counsel and internal stakeholders
• Keep governance on course: assist in corporate governance and policy development
• Support the rules of the seas: coordinate with outside counsel and internal teams; provide general administrative support
• Port of call: remote work setup with periodic in-person meetings at varied locations
• Hoist the Jolly Roger: share expertise to enhance our pirate culture
