Job summary

Pirate Ship is seeking a Paralegal to support the General Counsel with contracts, IP management, and governance in a fast-paced tech environment. This remote-friendly role invites a proactive legal professional to join a creative, inclusive crew.

You will draft and review agreements, conduct legal research, support corporate governance, and help implement policies. Occasional travel and strong benefits complete the package.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of paralegal experience in tech or law firm.
• Strong drafting and review skills for contracts and legal documents.
• Experience with intellectual property, contracts, and corporate law.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Keep Our Documents Shipshape: assist in preparing, reviewing, and revising contracts and other legal documents; maintain organized document management.
• Scout the Legal Horizon: conduct legal research on regulatory, IP, and commercial topics; monitor changes affecting the company.
• Help Safeguard Our Treasure: manage IP portfolio; coordinate with external counsel on registrations and enforcement.
• Keep Our Governance on Course: assist in corporate governance; prepare meeting docs and maintain records; support policy development.
• Support the Rules of the Seas: coordinate with outside counsel and cross-functional teams; provide admin support to GC.
• Sail from your port o’ call: work from home with occasional in-person meetings; remote collaboration via chat/voice/video.
• Hoist the Jolly Roger: share expertise to contribute to a fun, progressive culture.
