Job summary

Vertex Inc. is seeking a Territory Account Manager for the US Pain Business Unit to establish and maintain relationships with key hospitals, ambulatory centers, and HCPs to drive sales growth and prepare for potential commercialization of an investigational NaV1.8 inhibitor in acute pain.

The role covers 15-20 institutions, requires travel up to 80%, and reports to a Regional Field Director. Candidates should have deep product knowledge, strategic account planning skills, and a patient-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 7+ years of biotech sales with hospital/institution experience is highly desired.
• 3+ years of Account Management experience with established institutional relationships.
• Proven ability to navigate hospital institutions, formulary management, and product review to gain access.
• Experience with inpatient formulary implementation, protocols, pathways, and order sets.
• Strong IT aptitude to support business needs including CRM.
• Experience in launching new products is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish professional relationships within key accounts across hospital systems and stakeholders.
• Develop product expertise and educate HCPs on clinical attributes and patient needs.
• Navigate formulary processes to gain timely coverage and pathway inclusion.
• Understand institutional customer, account dynamics, and stakeholder mapping.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans for growth across landscapes.
• Drive sales performance and meet territory forecasts and budgets.
• Collaborate with field teams and HQ on aligned business plans and initiatives.
• Model ethics and integrity to earn stakeholder trust in this market.
