Job summary

Merck in the United States seeks a dynamic Rare Disease Account Specialist to drive PAH product demand, manage key accounts, and support providers and care teams. This field-based role covers designated territories with 25% travel, requiring strong relationships, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will engage healthcare providers, educate on product use, and coordinate with HQ to align account strategies with payer and access objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years Sales experience or higher school graduation with 10 years related healthcare experience.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in healthcare industry.
• Valid Driver’s license and ability to travel ~25% as required.
• Strong presentation and communication skills across diverse audiences.
• Technologically proficient with MS Office and iPad.

Responsibilities

• Account management across target accounts and stakeholders; build relationships with providers and staff.
• Develop account objectives, strategies, and tactics to meet goals.
• Plan quarterly strategic sessions with stakeholders to align market context and needs.
• Coordinate execution of account strategies and monitor progress against objectives.
• Provide disease and product information to care teams and support patient access programs.
