Job summary

The Opportunity Alliance is hiring Full-Time Crisis Call Specialists for the Maine Crisis Line. This overnight, 40-hour/week role offers remote work options and comprehensive training to become MHRT-CSP certified.

You will learn to answer calls, texts, and chats, assess risk, and support callers in crisis while collaborating with a statewide team. Ideal candidates have an associate degree, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Crisis or mental health experience preferred.
• Must earn MHRT-CSP certification within 30 days of employment.
• Strong oral communication skills.
• Call center or customer service experience a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced crisis environment.
• Able to learn and use documentation software.
• Must pass criminal background and checks.

Responsibilities

• Assess callers' problems and psychosocial stressors.
• Complete risk assessments to ensure caller safety.
• Use programmatic systems to monitor callers' status.
• Progress toward performance measures.
• Collaborate with Crisis Response Services in eight districts across the state.
