Opportunity Alliance is seeking full-time Crisis Call Specialists for the Maine Crisis Line. This overnight role (8:30pm–7:00am) offers a remote option within Maine, with in-person orientation in South Portland. Earn $23/hour plus a $4/hour overnight differential, and gain MHRT-CSP certification after training.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required.
• A year or more of crisis or mental health related experience preferred.
• MHRT-CSP certification within 30 days of employment required – onsite training provided.
• Solid oral communication skills, clear and customer-friendly communication during crises.
• Ability to learn and use crisis call documentation.
• Ability to manage complex tasks effectively.
• Previous call center/customer service experience is a plus.
• Ability to work with complex information to address challenging situations.
• Familiarity with DSM-V information.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible schedule required.
• Ability to learn documentation software and resource applications while engaging with clients.
• Ability to use telephone, instant messaging and chat technology.
• Must pass criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender checks.

Responsibilities

• Work with callers to assess presenting problems and psychosocial stressors.
• Complete risk assessments to ensure caller safety.
• Use programmatic systems to support monitoring and progress toward performance measures.
• Work with Crisis Response Services across the eight Districts of Maine.
