Job summary

The Opportunity Alliance operates Maine's Maine Crisis Line, staffing full-time Crisis Call Specialists for overnight shifts. You will answer calls/texts to support adults, families and youth in crisis, with remote options within Maine.

Training leads to MHRT-CSP certification, and you’ll join a compassionate team dedicated to safer outcomes. Ideal candidates bring crisis or mental health experience, strong communication, and the ability to handle complex information calmly.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required.
• Crisis or mental health experience preferred.
• MHRT-CSP certification within 30 days of employment or training onsite provided.
• Excellent oral communication; able to speak clearly and empathetically.
• Able to work in a fast-paced crisis environment; multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assess presenting problems and psychosocial stressors for callers.
• Complete risk assessments to ensure safety of callers in crisis.
• Use programmatic systems to monitor and document interactions.
• Collaborate with Crisis Response Services across Maine districts.
• Engage calmly with callers and maintain client rapport during calls.
