Job summary

The Samaritans on Cape Cod and the Islands is seeking compassionate individuals to join our Crisis Line team as Overnight Crisis Line Associates. This remote position is open to Massachusetts residents only and runs Monday–Wednesday from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM ET, at $19.00 per hour with a $1.00 per hour shift differential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Massachusetts resident required for remote work.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and compassionate during difficult conversations.
• Demonstrated sound judgment and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming crisis and emotional support calls.
• Provide compassionate, non-judgmental listening and support.
• Assess caller needs and follow crisis intervention protocols.
• Document call interactions accurately in the system.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Meet quality and performance standards for crisis line operations.
• Participate in required training and staff meetings.
• Collaborate with team to ensure continuity of care.
