Job summary

The Samaritans Cape Cod and the Islands is seeking compassionate, dependable individuals to join our Crisis Line team as overnight Crisis Line Associates. This remote position requires Massachusetts residency and offers a part-time schedule Thursday to Sunday, 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM EST with a $19.00/hour wage.

As a Crisis Line Associate, you will answer crisis and emotional support calls, provide empathetic listening, document interactions, and follow established crisis intervention protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Massachusetts resident required.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and compassionate during difficult conversations.
• Technical proficiency and ability to learn software platforms.
• Reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to work independently in remote environment.
• Maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming crisis and emotional support calls.
• Provide compassionate, non-judgmental listening and emotional support.
• Assess caller needs and follow crisis intervention protocols.
• Document call interactions accurately in the call management system.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Meet quality and performance standards related to crisis line operations.
• Participate in required training, coaching, and staff meetings as scheduled.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure continuity of care and service excellence.
• Support the organization's mission of suicide prevention and emotional support.
