Job summary

Qualus is seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to design and produce construction drawings for high-voltage transmission projects. The role may operate from multiple locations, including remote options, and involves collaboration with our Transmission Design team.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering background, 4–6 years in overhead transmission design, and proficiency with PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and MFAD, with travel up to 10% and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited school.
4-6 years of experience in overhead transmission design.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to travel up to 10% and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Design overhead transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
Prepare construction sketches for overhead network services (4 KV through 34 KV).
Perform structural analysis and design, and foundation designs.
Model transmission lines in PLS-CADD, determine right of way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop line plan/profile drawings.
Review vendor submittals.
