Job summary

Travelers Insurance is seeking a claims professional to manage first-party property claims in a remote role serving the DC/NoVA region. The ideal candidate will inspect losses, prepare estimates, and coordinate settlements with internal and external partners.

The position requires strong negotiation, analytical, and customer service skills, plus the ability to work independently in a remote environment. A valid license and field experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; outside property claim experience preferred.
• Two+ years of outside property claim handling experience expected.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities essential.
• Ability to analyze and determine coverage and damages in complex claims.

Responsibilities

• Handles first party property claims of moderate severity and complexity.
• Completes field inspections with accurate scope of damages and estimates.
• Maintains diary system and claim file documentation per procedures.
• Negotiates settlements within authority limits and writes formal communications.
