Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Claims Representative, Outside Property, to manage 1st party property claims across a Southern California territory. The role involves in-person inspections at residences, evaluating damages, and negotiating settlements with insureds and vendors. A valid license and driving to multiple locations are required.

You will work remotely with occasional travel, ensuring timely, accurate claim resolution and high customer service standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Two years of property claim experience is required.
• Active adjuster license is required where applicable.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions.
• Exceptional customer service and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under limited supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, and third-party vendors.
• Investigate and evaluate all relevant facts and information and determine coverage for property damages.
• Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents losses; use written or computer-assisted estimates.
• Provide timely and professional communication to customers, representatives, and vendors.
• Negotiate with contractors or insured’s representatives with guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in the system.
• Adapt to new technology implementations and AI tools while maintaining productivity.
• Acquire and maintain required Insurance Licenses within three months of starting.
• Inspect dwellings or structures; climb ladders as needed; travel may be extensive.
