Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Coder I for Home & Community Care Admin on a remote, per diem/relief schedule. The role codes outpatient records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, ensuring accuracy for quality data and compliant reimbursements.

The ideal candidate has ICD-10-CM/CPT-4 coding experience and proficiency with MS Office and CMS requirements, with eligible credentials within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Accredited coding program or equivalent education/experience.
• Completion of a formal coding certificate/education program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience abstracting and coding with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
• Credentials required within 1 year from hire: CPC-A, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, CCA, CPCH, CPPM.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation and code diagnoses/procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 for reimbursement and compliance.
• Ensure specificity of diagnoses and procedures for optimal reimbursement.
• Abstract information from medical records using established methods.
• Identify problem documents and coordinate with departments to correct errors.
• Review and correct claim and code edits as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
