Job summary

Sierra7, Inc. seeks a Full-Time Outpatient Medical Coder to work remotely in the United States. You will code outpatient visits and surgical procedures for the VA Health Care System, reading records in VistA/CPRS and entering codes into the encoder.

HIPAA compliance is required, along with accurate auditing scores. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and at least two years of outpatient coding experience, plus formal training in anatomy and medical terminology, CPT/ICD

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum 2 years outpatient coding experience.
• Formal training in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pathology, pharmacology and coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient visits, surgeries and professional services using CPT/ICD/HCPCS.
• Access VistA/CPRS to read records and enter codes into encoder.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and privacy/security requirements.
• Achieve minimum auditing scores and apply modifiers correctly.
