Revu Healthcare is building a roster of experienced outpatient coders for 1099, remote, project-based work. Coders join a talent pool and are contacted as opportunities arise, with no guaranteed hours.

Ideal candidates have CPC certification, 5+ years of outpatient coding, and experience with CPT/ICD-10-CM, various EMR systems, and audit reviews. Flexible scheduling may include weekends or after-hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion and passing of the Revu Healthcare outpatient coding assessment.
• Active CPC certification (AAPC) — CPC-A not accepted.
• Minimum 5 years of outpatient coding experience.
• Prior coding audit or validation experience.
• Ability to commit to 15+ hours per week when actively assigned to a project.
• Strong knowledge of CPT coding guidelines.
• ICD-10-CM coding.
• Outpatient facility coding.
• Experience working in various EMR systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform outpatient coding reviews and validation audits
• Review medical record documentation to ensure coding accuracy and compliance
• Identify coding discrepancies and provide clear rationales
• Follow client-specific audit tools, workflows, and scorecards
• Meet project productivity and quality expectations
• Attend project kick-off calls, training sessions, and periodic team meetings as needed
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and data security standards
• Submit completed work and time entries according to project requirements
• Maintain access to client systems by logging in once a month
