Job summary

Community Care Cooperative (C3) is seeking an Outpatient Coder to join the billing and credentialing service. This remote role reports to the Director of Revenue Integrity and focuses on reviewing ambulatory medical records for accurate code assignment and compliant documentation.

The ideal candidate holds a CPC certification, 3–5 years of outpatient coding experience in a multi-specialty setting, and familiarity with Epic. Remote work options are available with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• CPC certification is required and inbound outpatient CPT/HCPCS experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of outpatient coding in a multi-specialty setting.
• Epic experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT/HCPCS procedure codes based on documentation.
• Ensure timely completion of coding to meet billing deadlines.
• Resolve incomplete or missing documentation to expedite billing.
• Clarify coding questions with healthcare providers.
• Perform claim edits and denial reviews related to coding errors.
• Identify coding trends that threaten revenue and report to management.
• Stay current with coding guidelines, payer policies and updates.
• All other duties as assigned.
