Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a full-time Certified Outpatient Medical Coder to remotely code outpatient records using ICD-10 and CPT-4 standards for a health system.

You will assign diagnosis and procedure codes, ensure accuracy for reimbursement, and use encoder software to support coding and abstracts.

Requirements include an Associate Degree in Health Information Management, RHIT/RHIA/CCS certification, and CAHIIM/HIMT program completion, with coding test validation.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient coding experience in specified service lines or 3 years of acute care outpatient coding experience.
• Credentialed as RHIT, RHIA, or CCS.
• CAHIIM approved coding certificate program or HIMT program.
• Coding proficiency demonstrated through a coding test.

Responsibilities

• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient medical records based on patient visits.
• Utilize Computer Assisted Coding/Encoder Software to ensure accurate coding and abstracting of information.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while addressing edits during the coding process for reimbursement accuracy.
