Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks a full-time California Licensed Inpatient Coder to remotely code and abstract inpatient cases, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and accurate documentation across ICD-CM, ICD-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.

You will review medical records, interact with physicians to clarify information, and organize work to meet regulatory timelines while maintaining data quality and confidentiality in a home-based setting.

Qualifications

• Three years of hospital coding experience within the last five years.
• High School Diploma or GED with completion of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding classes from an accredited program.
• Certification: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical record documentation to accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-CM, ICD-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to ensure timely and compliant coding in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Interacts with physicians to clarify and accurately document patient diagnostic and procedural information.
